Qualification: Students will be awarded a City & Guilds Level 3
Professional Diploma in Adult Social Care. Level 3 is the equivalent to A-Level study. This programme is intended for those who have a strong interest in working within the care sector. It offers a clear path to employment within a short period of 9 months.

Duration: The Professional Diploma in Adult Social Care is a 9-month course broken down into 3 terms:
• Term 1 is focused on key skills and key modules and will be taught in one of our pathway centres.
• Term 2 is a 9-week unpaid work placement
• Term 3 is back in the centre to finish coursework and preparation for your career.

The average salary after completion is £23,730.

Key Application Information
• English language requirements: 5.5 IELTS with no component less than 5.5. (Note: no waivers by country)
• Academic requirements: 5 GCSE/IGCSE’s A*-E.
• Students must be a minimum of 17 to enrol in this course.

There is no maximum age limit but applicants must be fit and able to carry out a physically demanding job.
• All students will have a creditability/suitability interview. A genuine interest in care is required and assessments will be made on a case-by-case basis.
• An initial assessment before the course is required to assess if any additional learning support is required.
• Police history checks from their home country are required as they will be working within the care sector.
• The deposit is required prior to the interview. If the student fails the interview, they will be entitled to a full refund of the deposit minus the £200 admin fee.

Placement information:
The placement will take place in a care setting in the third term of the programme. It will include an induction from the care home.
After completion some of the roles that they can go into include Lead Adult Care Worker and Support Worker.
Guaranteed employment upon completion of the course, otherwise a return of the tuition fees.

Q: How long is the programme?
A: The Professional Diploma is a 9-month course broken down into 3 terms.

Q: What is the minimum age for entry into this program?
A: The minimum age for entry into this program 17 years of age, and applicants should be 18 at the point of overtaking a work placement.

Q: Is there a maximum age limit?
A: There is no maximum age limit imposed however assessments will be made on a case-by-case basis. The applicant should acknowledge that they will need to be able to fulfil physically demanding tasks such as lifting. We are open to interviewing those of all ages.

Q: For applicants who are 17 years of age, do they need a guardian?
A: Applicants who are 17 years of age will be required to arrange a guardian. We can provide the details of agencies who can provide a UK guardian.

Q: Are we accepting IELTS equivalents such as PTE?
A: Yes, we are accepting SELT proficiency tests for this course, please speak to your Country Manager for further information on the requirements.

Q: Are payment instalment plans available?
A: Payment instalment plans are not currently available; however, this is open to change in the future and is being reviewed depending on the demand for it.

Q: Can they apply if the student has a bachelor’s degree from their home country?
A: Yes, they can. However, they should be aware that suitability will be assessed on a case-by case basis. Those who have an academic background or work history in the care sector are preferred.

Q: Can this programme be used as a foundation course to nursing?
A: This course is intended solely for students who want to go directly into health and care related employment.

Q: Where will the work placement take place, and will students be required to travel?
A: We will always aim to place students within close proximity to the centre or their accommodation, so students will not be required to travel lengthy distances to complete the work placement.

Q: Can I apply for this course if I already have work experience in this sector?
A: Yes, work experience is a benefit. Please provide further details during your initial assessment.

Q: Is a STEM background or a specific educational background required?
A: There is no STEM requirement and no specific requirements on an educational background.

Q: What are the job opportunities available to me after completing this diploma?
A: There are thousands of job opportunities in the UK care sector. With this qualification, care employers may offer sponsorship for roles such as:

Immigration and Visas
Q: What type of visa do students receive for the course?
A: Students receive a Student Route Visa (formerly known as the Tier 4 General student visa). Students are not able to work at all during the course except for their work placement. Visit https://www.gov.uk/student-visa for more information.

Q: How long is the Student Route Visa (formerly known as a Tier 4 General Studt Visa) valid for?
A: The visa should be valid for up to 1 month before the course start date, depending on the date the visa is issued, and then should be valid until 2 months after the course end date.

Q: Can students work a paid job whilst they are studying?
A: Unfortunately, students are not able to work whilst here on a student visa.

Q: Can I start working after graduation?
A: Upon the certificate being awarded to you, you will be eligible to apply for UK skilled worker visa (Health and Care Worker Visa). We will also help you sign up with an employment agency in the UK.

Q: Will students need to return home to make a visa application for their Health and Care Worker Visa?
A: Students can make the application whilst in the UK. Students will need to have a role/job offer in Health and Care industry to apply for this visa.
The visa issuing process is not controlled by us, so we cannot guarantee that a student will not have to return home after completing the course.
However, if they make a good impression on their work placement, we would expect the placement provider to move quickly to make a job offer so the visa application process can begin.

Q: How long is the skilled worker visa (Health and Care Worker Visa) valid for?
A: The Health and Care Worker Visa is valid for 5 years. Students will need secured employment to apply for this visa. Employment support will be provided at the study centre.

Q: Once a student had secured a Health and Care Worker visa to the UK, can they bring along dependents?
A: No, students will not be able to bring dependents on this visa.

Q: What is the work placement provided?
A: A work placement will mean working full time in a care home based near to your place of study. It will require an induction from the care home and then carrying out all the duties required of a Care Assistant. The care home will supply a job description which will outline the roles and responsibilities and support the student by giving opportunities for them to be assessed while carrying out workplace tasks. The work placement is unpaid.

Q: Is the work placement a paid placement?
A: The placement is not a paid placement but is essential to provide students with the opportunity to be assessed while in the workplace and gain familiarity with the role of a Care Worker.

Q: Are we working with contractors in the care industry?
A: We are not working with contractors directly however since the student will complete a work placement, we are confident that the student will be able to secure permanent employment after successful completion. Employment support will be provided.
